Default Crap junk of previous owner

During Camp MJ I had broke a leaf spring centering pin. Was not sure how the heck that happened, but once I took it apart to fix it all became clear...

The [email protected] that installed the lift decided to make his own angled pieces to "correct" the driveshaft angle.

He then used the leaf spring centering pin to bolt the angled piece to the springs. As you can see the bolt was then at an angle and eventually failed. The pics are off the side that did not fail, but was just about there.

    Interesting ways people do things....

Quality lol. Ditch them degree shims they are nothing but headaches. If it's that bad cut the pads off, reset the pioion angle, and weld new ones on. They are only 12.00 for a pair, cheaper than shims in most cases. I always carry a spare center pin, in my spare bolt ammo box, for sits like that too.

The centering pin and shim is only a small part; add his wiring, mechanical efforts, body lift job and you have a lot $$$ wasted and me wanting to go find him and cut off his fingers, pecker, and dig out his eye balls.

I agree completely Bro...less than a 20 and less than an afternoon in the garage and you don't need them anymore. Makes a good, quick little project with HUGE safety benefits.
Marines...shoot me a PM if you have not received an invitation to the Jarhead Jeepers social group on this site and would like to be a member.
