    Default Post WFTW death wobble

Not really tech help, but the jeep drove like crap this weekend after beating it up on the rocks. The front was locked, tires aired down and after a few runs, I could not turn left more than maybe an inch or two. The turning problem was fixed at the campsite, but when we took the jeep off the trailer at the house, the top of the front tires were leaning in towards the engine. Steve was at the house, so we jacked the jeep up and the tires seemed to straighten out, but when we took it for a test drive we got death wobble at like 20 mph.

tomorrow I am going to try to get the wheels aligned and hope that fixes the problem, then. Fun.

Well we deff. figured its not a bent axle tube. Ball joints maybe but not likely. Alignment wow deff pretty bad. So hopefully that fixes it.

You should be fine Ryan when I put my Currie steering on had a few probs that the alignment solved. Might want to check those ball joints by jacking front tires, placing hands at 12 and 6 on tires and trying to wiggle them. If there is play in the tires you need new ball joints. Im pretty sure this will not be the case though.

We already checked the balljoints they are pretty solid.

I'm sure you already checked, but make sure your track bar is tight. Mine is usually loose as hell after every wheeling trip.

I smashed my steering dampener on Wet & Wild... I can feel some play while driving and expect a DW any time now. I ordered the Poly Performance dampener with the relocation kit. I need to check the track bar and make sure that it is tight...

I will look at the jeep again tonight after work. We just got back too late the night before and last night there were not enough hours left in the day to do everything I wanted to do. Now that I sprayed some of the mud off, I will crawl under there and check other stuff when I get home. I do know I need an alignment, you can tell just by taking a quick glance at the tires.

To me that sounds like wheel bearings, unless you have some of those aftermarket balljoints that allow you to adjust camber. Or possible bent C's.
