Default Been gone a while, question about whether to sell my Jeep...

Been away for a while, finally back home and looking at starting a new build from scratch. Here is my problem. I would prefer to sell my current Jeep (97 TJ) as it sits, which is pretty much fully built with about 30K in mods and accessories on it. My wife says part it out, make it stock again and sell it bare bones. She is probably correct, but not only is it a ton of additional work for me, it will only mean someone out there would be doing perhaps the same mods to it again. I don't know, I listed it on ebay but I am getting ready to pull it off and rethink it. What do you think?

If you were in Colorado I would say sell it fully built and get your money back. In CT that will be harder to do and I seriously doubt you will get close to what you have invested back. Ebay or Craig's List are options as you can get buyers from a larger area. My TJ is worth $30,000 to me, but not to 95% of the people out there who may be looking to buy a Jeep.

    Part it out!
You'll make so much more money back off of it.
Besides the money, what are you looking at buying next? You could always use some of the parts on your next rig.

Austere Mobility in a '99 TJ Sport with a few bells and whistles

The bravest of all Spartans was Dienekes. It is said that on the eve of battle, he was told by a native of Trachis that “the Persian archers were so numerous that, when they fire their volleys, the mass of arrows will block out the sun.”

Dienekes, however, quite undaunted by this prospect, remarked with a laugh, “Good. Then we’ll fight in the shade!”

Honestly you will never get out of it what you put into it. Mods and accesories dont seem to add that much value to a rig. If you have the time I would return it to stock.

I'd say return it to stock also - especially if you still have everthing that you removed originally.

First question that came to me was - Why are you building a new rig?

If you must sell - I agree with others. Return it to stock - that if you can't get 80% of cost back. Too big of a loss to include all the mods.

X?? Part it out and put it back to stock. Like said before you set up the rig your way which won't be the same as other people.

Thanks for the responses. I will end up returning the Jeep back to stock, should be a nice weekend project. So, get ready, as I will be unloading everything off of the Jeep.
