ok im pfc and i spend alot of time and all my check lol on my jeep and then i take it out and break it in on some rocks or mud or just trail riding now this is my first jeep to ever own i am really proud of it but i got all these car owners that always come over and say the following " hey nice CAR you got there" or " nice truck " then it is usually followed by " why is it dirty all the time " or " why did you take the carpet out " or " did you forget to put the top up when you went mudding " or my favorite one is when you wave at other jeep owners they respond with " do you know that guy" and i respond with "no but he owns a jeep so its something you do" and of course they dont understand why so i just tell them its a JEEP THING I DONT EXPECT YOU TO UNDERSTAND now my question what does that really mean i have my idea of what it means i would like to here everyone elses idea on it or why is being a jeep owner sucha addicting thing

"Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly screaming -- "WOW! What a Ride!""
LOL,Ran out of breath reading it.What is "A Jeep thing? To me it's haveing a rig that is ready to do what I want, when I want, where I want, and not careing about the looks before or after.![]()
PFC Da4x4Rocker, you have it right. I don't drive a car, a truck or an SUV, I drive a Jeep. I wave to other Jeeps if they are a CJ/YJ/TJ/JK and or any other Jeep that at least looks like it has been off road to include all FSJ, XJ/ZJ/WJ/WK/KJ and XKs. Now I do not leave my Jeep covered in mud because I have learned over the years that it is much easier to do PMCS on a clean Jeep than on one covered in mud. Hence I also get questions from other 4x4 owners about if I ever go muddin, or did I just build it for show and or some will ask me about the accident that caused the damage and I usually have a smart @$$ re-sponse which comes from answering those questions to many times from people who don't understand that it is a Jeep thing.
I believe it started with the cj's. The WAVE was a way for a jeep owner to acknowledge each other's unique vehical. It just kinda stuck over the yrs.
And btw Jeep's with mud are SOP.
This is a very true statement.. When you hear a rattle or a vibration, just turn up the stereo. My wife use to ask what was they vibration and I would respond "It's a Jeep thing" finally after a couple of months she figured it out... Especially when everyone waves at her in the Jeep!!! SO YEAH I DRIVE A JEEP AND IT IS A JEEP THING!!!

This "Jeep thing" is like dating a smokin hot chick, who is crazy! Its alot of fun, you spend too much money, your up all night ending up sweaty & greasy from it, your friends are jealous, you get admission into some sort of weird club... but it gets mad at your for no reason, throws fits randomly, has unexplained issues that solve themselves after you throw parts at it, and yet you cant wait to drive everywhere.
