    Default the lift is on

Just finished putting on a 3 1/2 " Rubicon Express lift on the TJ

    what I went from is:

98 TJ stock springs with about 3 inch budget boost

    what I went to is:
3 1/2 " RE springs (and all the goodies that I'll get in to in a minute)

ride hight when I got it -
LF - 31" RF 30.75" (at the front fender)
LR - 25.5" LR 25" (at the body right at the body line where the rear corner is welded to the body right behind the rear flares)

ride height after the RE lift _
    LF - 32.75" RF - 32.75"
    LR - 28.25" LR - 28"

    this is all with 32x11.50's

    $ spent:

RE standard suspension system 3.5" lift with shocks from 4x4groupbuy - 599
RE adjustable trackbar from Quadratec - 189

and to rebuild the front end...
tie rod ends - about 20 apiece
    HD tie rod - 87
long tie rod end - 100
pitman arm tie rod end - about 20

first pic is as it was when I bought the jeep.

    second pic is this afternoon

forgot to mention it already had a dropped pitman arm. so no change there.

next on the list will be the adjustable controll arms (and a lifetime warranty front end allignment on post at the firestone place...) ( I hear you gotta watch them but thats not a problem, I'll be watching)

anybody running a 3 1/2" lift without useing the transfercase drop kit? It seems all it does is lower the belly pan (shovel).
but, after the first drive this morning with the TC lowering kit installed, I cant hardly get it in 2nd gear. is there a fix for this?
would the drive shaft work without the lowering kit? more problems??

I took off the boot on the console at lunch and looked at the lower boot, it looks like the gear shifter is now hitting either the floor or part of th boot.

    any ideas?

You need to adjust linkages. Every jeep is diff you may be fine with out the drop. Only way would be to remove it pretty easy 6 bolts. And drive it see if it vibrates.

    Heres another question...

how is the best way to center the axel with the adjustable track bar? is there a good measuring location? on both sides?
