    Default Check Engine Light

So my check engine light came on this afternoon. I'm a little confused considering it has less than 12,000 miles on the engine. Do you think its an electrical issue or something actually wrong with the engine? Anyone else have their check engine light turn on at still low mileage? I appreciate the feedback.....

Come by the Auto Shop on Belvoir and I will read the code, or you can go to Auto Zone and they will read it for free. Could be anything, even a loose gas cap

Just out of curiosity... check your gas cap and make sure it's on tight.
I don't know how many times I've left my cap off or loose only to realize it after the cel comes on.

gas cap - ya that one got me a few times

Retrieving codes: Turn the ignition key until the digital odometer displays, repeat three times in succession and then back to "On" (On/Off, On/Off, On/Off, On). At the fourth "On" the odometer will be replaced with codes. If no codes are present then "Done" will appear.

i have best warrantee they offer and i took mine to the dealer and they wanted to charge me 65 for the diagnostic alone and then if it's not covered i would have to pay. not covered can be easily made if you have offroading evidence, which we all do

you need to find a good dealer. I know we have two dealers down here around Fort Hood that are pretty good about honoring the warranty, even if the jeep is modded and or muddy.
