    Default Tailgate mod

Does anyone know if you can make a current tailgate from a TJ go down like a pickup tailgate? I thought I read an article about doing this with a CJ tailgate swapped onto a TJ but I cant remember what they used. Any info would be nice. Thanks.

There was an article, it wasn't too long ago, but I don't remember much other than that.

It can be done. Easiest way is to find a CJ tailgate with the hinges, chains/straps and hardware, but it can be done using the YJ or TJ tailgate.

The CJ tailgate's hold up better, becuase they're made to have weight on them when down, I've seen a YJ gate converted that bent from the guy sitting on it.
