    USMC CB install help

I bought a Cobra 18 WX ST II today. i put the mounting bracket under the dash between the passenger and driver. I tested it and I can still move the stick freely. the problem i am having is wiring. the instructions involve wiring to fuses. i think i understand (i just put the wire under the fuse and pluged the fuse in) but i dont see how that will metal on metal connect. i also need to ground it. i assume i should ground on the chassis but i'm new to all this electronic stuff and so i dont know how. I have a huge ass antenna that runs under the carpet all the way to the dash and i assume that's a cb anntenna so i'm going to use it. i youtubed cb install and got NOTHING. any help will be awesome

already tons of and no real progress

If I'm picturing what you've done with the positive wire, I've done the same and it worked great. If you're using your TJ, you can ground it to the tub under your center console pretty easily. All it has to do is be secured to the chassis, as you say.

the ground should be easy enough but the antenna wire loses itself somewhere behind the dash and i think it's connected to something!? wtf needs a 4 foot antenna attatched to it?

First off I would NOT tap into a fuse the way you're describing. Did the CB come with it's own in-line fuse? If not go to an auto parts place, even Wally world, and get an in-line fuse. Then get your power directly from the terminal block with said in-line fuse. As close to the CB and Chasis is where you scuff it up and use that as your ground.
Did your rig have a CB before? You have me confused on the antenna, never had one inside before. Post up some pics. Unless you're talking about your Radio antenna which is different.
Once you do have it all set up. BEFORE you use it make sure it's tuned. You can buy an SWR meter from Radio Shack, find a truck stop in your AO-they might be able to tune it for a fee, or check with the Commo guys in your unit or on base they might be able to help you with tuning.

the antenna is a big aftermarket mofo that was there when i bought it. it's on the back and runs to the glove. the cb has it's own fuses.

If I remember correctly, I used a splitter like this when hooking mine up through the fuse panel.

the splitter can be bought at autozone type places or some radio shacks.
