Question Headlight restoration - a worthwhile DIY project?

I've got three vehicles that have faded or hazed headlights. Has anyone had any success with the do-it-yourself products out there that are supposed to restore their clarity? Is this a worthwhile DIY project, or is it one that's better to farm out to someone that knows what they're doing?

    1. If so, what tips and tricks can you offer?
    2. Can any particular product or manufacturer be recommended?
    3. And finally, will it work on colored tail light assemblies?

    Thanks

X2! It's called "PlastX". I get it from Autozone. Also works great on CD's, DVD's and eyelass lenses!

Being an Airframer, I acquired a micromesh kit for cleaning aircraft canopes and it worked great. Required elbow grease though. Once you do get them clear get clear covers for the headlights. Preventative measure........
