well, as the title says i had an interesting night. first off, i came home to visit my family. i was hangin out at my sister's place and my niece wanted to go for a ride. so we went for a ride. as we're headed down the road i come up on someone with their flashers on. so i whip around so im on their side and we see a car about 10 feet down in a ditch. i ask if they want a tug. they said, that'd be great, so as im getting into position, a cop pulls up flashers and all, followed by the entire crawford county fire department. cop asked if it was a 2 car accident and i said, beats me, im just pullin this guy out. he said, alright and went on. i guess everyone there knew each other, which isnt surprising in this part of the state. anyway, i winched the guy out and went on my way. my niece was very pleased with our rescue efforts and gigglin the whole drive back.
also on my way to my parents house, i came up on a guy workin on his truck, so i stopped and asked if he needed any help. long story short he was a security guard for a lumber mill a couple miles down the road so i got to give him a tow to work.
wow, i feel so productive right now. haha. sorry for the long read and hope it wasnt too boring.

For over 221 years our Corps has done two things for this great Nation. We make Marines and we win battles.

That is what makes us here on MJ different from most. I'll bet there isn't a one of us that doesn't stop on a regular basis to help a total stranger.
Good Job AF.![]()
good job!
I stop all the time. I figure, if it was me I would want the same help (Karma!)
Congrats on the two "recoveries".Just remember to keep your guard up when helping someone "stranded" on the side of the road. I would say at a minimum, be aware of your surroundings and don't be afraid to leave the AO if you get a funny feeling in your gut.
Many years ago an MP was ambushed and shot when he stopped to help a car on the side of the road and I am sure many Sworn LEO and innocent civilians have found themselves in a similar predicament.
Job market sucks and people may get pretty desperate to pay the bills.
