    Default got an interesting call today

    so my brother calls be today and was like, "dude, my jeep caught on fire!!!" so naturally, i said, what did you do? haha. anyway, basically he had an oil leak and i guess it was leaking on the cat and got too hot and ignited. what was interesting and somewhat puzzling to me is that at the same time, his engine cut off. he hasnt been able to crank it back up. he was able to put the fire out with a cup of tea he had so there was no real damage. his engine turns over but wont crank. its a 94 xj sport 4.0. anyone got any ideas why the engine wont crank? he also said his oil was fine but his oil pressure guage said he had low oil pressure. i was thinking sending unit but im not sure. anyway, thanks for any suggestions.

    If it was is cat that the oil caught on fire on, have him check and make sure that the wires for the CPS didn't get burned, as I know they are some times fairly close to the cat.... and if that is burned through, or if the sensor is messed up I know it won't start up, but will continue to turn over, and attempt to start up.... just a thought!!!

    I'll bet one of the O2 sensors got fried. Is he throwin codes?

    even if the O2 sensors got fried it would still start up and run just get crappy MPG
