    Default Kill Switches, etc.

Since it was brought up, here are a couple of links. I have been looking around a bit for some ideas and have been stock pilling some for when I get back to the states.

Like I said, I haven't tried any of these yet, but you get the idea.

I personally use the fuel pump kill switch. I have it on both of our jeeps and have used it on numerous other rigs. IT DOES WORK!!! As long as you remember to flip the switch. My jeep got broke into once and they tried to steal it. I came out to a busted door lock, busted ignition, and a dead battery. But the important part is that I still had a jeep.

We had a jeep club up here (I think it was in Maryland) that had a meet and greet at a location like Hooters. When they got done eating and went out to their jeeps, a bunch were gone and some had damage from where people tried to get in and or tried to start them. Talk about a meet and greet going crappy really fast.

We had BOLOs on the local board for a while trying to keep an eye out for some of their jeeps.

I know where Chris's kill switch is. $20.00 and I will tell you.

If you have a manual transmission TJ, utilize the clutch compression switch. I have mine, it took 20 minutes to do and cost under $5. You know how you have to suppress the clutch to turn the ignition over? If you look under the dash towards the top of the clutch pedal, you'll see a spring/bushing with two black wires coming out of it. Cut one wire and splice with vatozone electrical wire and run to a two position switch. Run another wire from the other position of the switch to the other cut end of the wire running to the clutch. Wide where ever you want (not telling you where mine is ). I found the idea on JF. This works well enough that I'll leave my keys in my jeep (not really).

how 'bout something mechanical, like having a removable shifter or something. is that feasible?

there was a video on youtube that described how to hook up a gutted mobile phone (speaker and lights removed) under the dash so that if the car does gets stolen the police can trace its location by calling the silent phone.

or just glue gun some glass shards to a magnetic strip cut to fit under the door handles and when the perp tries to open the door he cuts his fingers to shreads.

people should respect other people's stuff....or don't whine when hurt for not doing so.

Read on another board one time about some type of magnetic kill switch. Other than the thif needing to have a magnet with them when they try to steal your jeep, they would also have to know where exactly to place that magnet in order to trip the switch. I guess you mount one part of the switch behind your dash and then when you want to start the jeep you just wave the magnet (attaches to your keyring) over the area where the kill switch is.
