    Default Frustrated beyond belief

So i had to take my door panel off on my XJ to replace a broken mirror. In putting it back on something is screwed of, for a lack of better words. The door will not lock. If I hold the panel right up the door and work the locks they function perfectly. But as soon as I put the panel actually back, the lock gets stuck in the locked position, however i can still open the door..weird...i cant find anything that could be obstructing movement and it doesnt make sense that if i just hold the panel centimeters away from the door it works fine but as soon as i seat it home it doesnt. I dont know what to do guys. Any thoughts? It is a 2000 XJ with power windows and locks...

Check the wires and make sure there isnt one that is shorting or pinched somewhere. had that problem once with a 87 grand wagonner.

X2 on the wires, and check the plug to the switches, they're known for going TU.
