    Default How much weight lost?

    How much weight could i lose on my XJ by removing all four power doors... and what else could i do to cut more weight so it could be towed by my JK

    no interior, no seats, keep doors but remove unessesary components, same for hatch.

    You talking removing the doors completely? Or just the glass/motors?

    The motors don't weigh much, but by removing the glass and motors, you'll save some.

    As mentioned, carpet, unneeded seats, sheetmetal, the sound barrier thingy under the hood.

    Lots of little things add up the weight fast, but I don't think you'll get an XJ light enough to be safely towed by a 2dr JK.

    Whats the weight limit for towing on your JK?

    When you start cutting XJs, the body picks up a little more flex.
    Toss the glass (except front), most of the interior (ya gotta sit somewhere), if you toss the doors, you're going to allow the body to twist/flex... but you could loose a lot of the interior facing off the doors.
    Why can't your JK tow it? Are you trailering it or flat towing?

    Are you looking to tow it for a one way move, or are you going to be trailering it on multiple occasions?? You could ask about that on NAXJA.org, as there are some guys on there that know quite a bit on dropping weight on the XJ for racing and such...

    doors completely lots of guys over on JF have done it and said they havent expirienced any problems with to much flex they say they start to when removing the hatch... i was gonna take the glass out of the rear hatch as well... was thinkin to flat tow it... tow capacity depening on where you look for my jk is 2500-3500 lbs from the jeep wiki "curb weight 4wd = 3,057 lbs - 3,386 lbs" ive been told the doors with power locks and windows weigh about 70lbs each.. just debating on wether i can keep it feasible to keep having a 1 car garage i dont wanna keep it in and no real way to get it to the ORV park... i may just go through with one of the offers i have had to trade a 4 wheeler or dirtbike... who knows..

    closest one is fort scott i belive wich is hour and a half or so... you at leav now? if youve seen a silver 2dr jk on post with a jeeperz creeperz sticker in the rear window and its usually dirty as hell that would be me
